Buying a Used Audi in the 336

Audi's quattro AWD comes standard on most models, which adds real value in NC rain and occasional ice. The Q5 is the most common Audi on 336 lots and depreciates about 35-45% in the first 4 years. The A4 is the sedan equivalent and typically trades a few thousand less than the Q5 at the same age and miles. Both use a 2.0T four-cylinder that's been refined over multiple generations and is well-understood by independent shops. The Q7 gives you three rows and costs more, but follows a similar depreciation curve.

Audi interiors age well - the Virtual Cockpit digital gauge cluster and MMI infotainment still look current on 5-year-old models. Watch out for the timing chain tensioner issue on pre-2013 2.0T engines (it's been fixed on newer models). Audis hold value slightly better than BMW but slightly worse than Lexus. The e-tron (all-electric SUV) has dropped fast on the used market - a 3-4 year old model typically trades at 40-55% of its original MSRP, making it one of the best EV values on dealer lots.
