Buying a Used BMW in the 336

BMWs depreciate 40-50% in the first four years. A 4-year-old 330i with 40,000 miles typically trades at 50-60% of its original sticker. An X3 follows a similar curve. That depreciation is what makes used BMWs worth looking at - you get the driving dynamics and interior quality at roughly half the original price. The 3 Series and X3 are the highest-volume models on local lots.

The tradeoff is maintenance cost. BMW oil changes run $80-$150 at independent shops, and brake jobs cost more than Honda or Toyota equivalents. Stick with CPO or recent models still under the 4-year/50,000-mile factory warranty if you want to limit that exposure. Avoid first-model-year redesigns (the first year of any new generation tends to have more warranty claims). The F30 3 Series (2012-2018) and G01 X3 (2018+) are the proven picks.
